Choose the right xBoox report

Open the report that answers the bookkeeping question you are reviewing.

Dashboard

Use Dashboard for summary indicators and trends. It is an overview, not the detailed accounting record.

Profit and Loss

Use Profit and Loss to review Income, Expenses, and Net Income for a date range. Open a report line to inspect supporting transaction detail when drilldown is available.

Profit and Loss Comparison

Use the comparison report to compare two reporting periods. Period labels follow the Workspace business structure: Sole Proprietor uses calendar-year language; Corporation may use fiscal-year language.

Balance Sheet

Use Balance Sheet to review Assets, Liabilities, and Equity as of a selected date.

General Ledger

Use General Ledger for account-by-account transaction detail. Posted Journal Entry lines are included with their entry number, source, and description.

Trial Balance

Use Trial Balance to review debit and credit balances by account as of a selected date. The current interface displays Accrual Basis. Whether xBoox will later support Cash Basis remains undecided.

Expense by Category

Use Expense by Category to review spending totals and supporting transactions grouped by Category.

GST/HST Summary and Detail

These reports appear when GST/HST tracking is enabled. Use them to review recorded tax amounts; they do not file a return or track filing status.

Rental Property Summary

This report appears when Residential Long-term Rental is enabled. It groups posted rental income and expenses by saved Rental Property assignment.

Report data rules

  • Final reports exclude Pending bank rows and ignored rows.
  • Draft or needs-review transactions may be excluded from final totals.
  • Split transactions contribute through their split lines.
  • Posted Journal Entry lines affect applicable financial reports.
  • Reversed entries remain visible with offsetting reversal entries, producing a net-zero effect.
  • Available reports may support CSV export, print, or transaction drilldown; controls vary by report.
