Review a Shareholder Loan Transfer
Use the controlled Year End Review action to record eligible company expenses paid personally by a shareholder.
Applies to
- Bookkeeping setup: Bank Account-Based Tracking
- Business structure: Corporation
- Workflow: Year End Review
Before you begin
The selected review period must have ended. xBoox must find eligible source and Shareholder Loan accounts and a positive source balance in the expected direction as of the period end date.
Create the transfer
- Open Accounting > Year End Review.
- Select the Shareholder Loan Review item.
- Review the amount, date, source account, and Shareholder Loan target.
- Select Transfer.
- Read the confirmation carefully and confirm.
The amount is calculated as of the selected year-end date, not today's date. xBoox creates a controlled Year-end Transfer Record and related system Journal Entry.
What this action means
The action records that the company owes the shareholder for eligible expenses paid personally. It is not a payment from the business bank account.
If the business later reimburses the shareholder, categorize the imported bank transaction according to the approved Shareholder Loan repayment treatment. Do not record the reimbursement as another Expense, payroll, or owner draw.
Undo
Use Undo Transfer from the same Year End Review item. xBoox reverses the controlled accounting effect and returns the review item to its previous state. Undo does not change a real bank payment.
Important rules
- Only Corporation Workspaces use this action.
- One active transfer is allowed for the same review period and source/target pair.
- An unexpected balance direction blocks the action and requires Accountant review.
- Ordinary users do not choose arbitrary Debit and Credit accounts for this controlled action.
- Banking does not yet use the transfer record to suggest a later repayment automatically.
